SpiMp3: Offline Music Player
(27 characters)
A fast, beautiful music player that never touches the internet. Your music stays yours.
(79 characters)
SpiMp3 is a music player for people who own their music.
It reads the audio files already on your phone and does one thing with them exceptionally
well: plays them. There is no account to create, no free tier, no trial, no "premium", no
music catalogue to browse, and — most importantly — no internet permission at all.
▌ Completely offline
SpiMp3 does not request the INTERNET permission. It is technically incapable of opening a
network connection, so your library cannot be uploaded, streamed, analysed or leaked. Not
just "we promise we won't" — the capability is not there.
▌ Your music, your tags, your cover art
Unlike a streaming app, SpiMp3 can actually fix your library. Open any song's menu, choose
"Edit details", and change the title, artist, album, year, track number and genre, or set a
new cover photo. The changes are written into the audio file's own metadata tags on your
device, so every other player sees them too. Pull down to refresh whenever you have copied
new music onto your phone.
▌ Built to be fast
• Scans your library instantly, with Songs, Albums, Artists and Folders views
• Five sort orders, and instant search across songs, artists and albums
• Shuffle, repeat off / all / one, and playback speed from 0.75× to 2×
• A real queue you can reorder, remove from, and add to from any song
• Sleep timer: 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or "until the queue ends"
• Media keys, Bluetooth and headset controls, lock screen and notification controls
• Favourites, playlists, "jump back in" and a recently played history that survive a reboot
▌ Select many songs at once
Press and hold any song to start selecting, then tap as many more as you like. A
contextual bar replaces the player and applies everything to the whole selection —
play them, queue them, favourite them, add them to a playlist, share them as one
attachment, or delete them behind a single Android confirmation. "All" selects
everything currently on screen.
▌ Looks good on a dark phone or a bright one
A true-black OLED dark theme that switches off unused pixels, a pure-white light
theme, or follow your system setting — with five accent colours on top. Nothing is
upgraded for a network connection.
▌ Lyrics, offline
Drop a .lrc file next to any audio file and SpiMp3 will display synchronised, auto-scrolling
lyrics. No network, no third-party lyrics service, no account.
▌ Looks like it was designed, not assembled
An edge-to-edge Material 3 interface with a Now Playing screen that has rotating
artwork and a scrubbing progress ring, and artwork fallbacks that read clearly even
when a track has no embedded cover. Every animation is tuned to feel immediate.
▌ Deleting is your decision, always
When you delete a song, Android itself shows the confirmation. The operating system — not
the app — makes the final call, and there is no way to undo it.
▌ Permissions, in full
• Audio — to find and play your music
• Notifications — for playback controls
• Foreground service — to keep playing in the background
• Wake lock — so playback survives the screen turning off
No internet. No contacts. No location. No camera. No microphone. No device identifiers.
You can verify the exact list in Android Settings → Apps → SpiMp3 → Permissions.
▌ In-app privacy policy
Settings → Security & privacy, or at https://ciomid1097-arch.github.io/SpiMp3/store/privacy-policy.html
